studio.d was founded by Derek Nunez, who brings over 30 years of experience in the AEC industry. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of working alongside exceptional talent at award-winning firms, shaping his expertise and approach to design.
Derek has lived, worked, and grown professionally across the Pacific Northwest, Southern California, San Francisco, New York, Mexico, and Chile—experiences that have enriched his perspective and deepened his understanding of global architectural practices. His foundation in the building arts began early, influenced by his father, a master builder known for creating custom homes and masterful renovations. This hands-on exposure instilled in him the ability to visualize a project in its entirety, digitally constructing spaces with precision and intent.
